Our Mission

The SDUSD Community Advisory Committee for Special Education partners with parents and educators to ensure students with disabilities thrive and receive a free and appropriate public education.

What We Do

We help parents learn about educational and community services for their children, engage with the community and District leadership, and advocate for the needs of our children with disabilities.

Parent Workshops & Resources

We offer workshops and resources to empower parents with knowledge about special education rights and strategies for supporting their children's learning.

Advocacy & Policy Influence

We advocate for policies and practices that promote equity, inclusion, and excellence in special education within the San Diego Unified School District.

Community Engagement

Engaging with the community is essential for us. We strive to build partnerships and foster a supportive network for students with disabilities and their families.
